Heat-strengthened glass is a type of glass that has undergone a specific heat treatment process to enhance its strength and durability, making it a valuable material in various architectural and structural applications. Heat-strengthened glass doesn’t require the strength of fully tempered glass and is intended fir applications that that do not specifically require a safety glass product.
Strength: Heat-strengthened glass is stronger than regular annealed glass but not as strong as fully tempered glass. It is designed to resist higher levels of wind pressure and thermal stress compared to standard glass.
Safety: When heat-strengthened glass breaks, it typically forms larger, less sharp shards than annealed glass. While it does not provide the same level of safety as tempered glass, it reduces the risk of serious injury due to glass shards.
