Laminated Glass

China Laminated Glass Manufacturer and Supplier

Laminated glass, also known as safety glass, is specially designed to be virtually unbreakable, so homeowners no longer fear burglars easily breaking into their homes. Laminated safety glass is difficult to break because it is able to hold together when broken by any type of force, whereas ordinary glass just shatters and falls apart. It can also help provide protection against environmental issues such as hurricanes, firearms, high winds and man-made disasters. As a result, this type of glass is becoming more and more popular among homeowners who want to keep their home safe and secure.
Laminated safety glass is formed by bonding layers of tempered glass to layers of plastic to ensure high impact resistance. This new technique of using coatings on glass improves performance, reduces reflectivity, and ensures high light transmission. However, laminated safety glass also has some advantages and some disadvantages.

Overview

Laminated glass is an industrial transformer that offers the benefits of greater durability, high performance and versatility, such as the ability to provide security, sound, solar and UV shielding, while still being ideal for hurricane and blast resistance, and of course it maintains the aesthetics of glass.

We are a laminated glass manufacturers from China, and we are currently certified by CSI Australia, IGCC SGCC USA, OE Europe, and China National Safety Glass Standard. We have our own lamination line, and our equipment ensures that the temperature and humidity levels are kept within the lamination manufacturer's standards, thus providing the best conditions for our high quality products, and these conditions guarantee better adhesion, performance, and longevity of our laminated glass.

The benefits of laminated glass

The most important property of laminated glass is drop protection, as the interlayer is able to support and hold the glass in the event of shattering, as well as reduce the ability to penetrate openings. The ability to resist various penetrations depends on many factors, including the thickness of the glass and the type of interlayer selected. northglass' architectural laminated glass products have a minimum 0.030" pvb interlayer and they meet industry safety standards for glazing materials.

In addition, northglass' laminated glass is available in various configurations for commercial glass applications. To provide a wide range of design options and meet various performance levels, northglass laminated glass can be used in any combination of tinted glass substrates, high performance coatings, printed patterns and tinted interlayers. Laminated glass also offers more coating availability than monolithic glass. Low-E coatings cannot be exposed and therefore cannot be used with monolithic glass, which can be used to protect the interior of their laminated units.

Laminated glass units also offer more aesthetic possibilities than monolithic glass. Interlayers used in laminated glass are available in a variety of colors and opacities. Additionally, if desired, a Low-E coating and screen pattern can be applied to the outer layer of the glass, making the inner layer available for additional processing. For spandrel locations, a full coverage opaque ceramic frit can be applied to the inner surface. For visual areas that require daylight but need to minimize see-through, a translucent ceramic frit can be applied to the surface facing the airspace.

Application of Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is widely used in various architectural applications because of its superb strength and safety, and most importantly, the visual properties of the glass bring a sense of space, so also laminated glass is the best choice for various architects and designers to design.

Laminated glass can be used as doors, windows, railings, canopies, sunrooms, curtain walls, facades, glass floor staircases, shower rooms, storefront decorations, etc. in buildings.

Why use laminated tempered glass?

Laminated tempered glass is a composite glass product made by bonding a PVB (polyvinyl butyral) adhesive film between at least two sheets of glass, which are then heated, extruded and bonded together to make a horizontal or curved composite glass product. The glass sheet used to make laminated glass can be ordinary glass, coast glass, treated glass, blackout glass, insulating glass or heat reflective glass. The number of layers is 2, 3, 5, 7, and up to 9 layers. For double-layered laminated glass, the regular thickness of the glass panels is (mm) 2+3, 3+3 and 3+5, etc. The straightness of laminated glass is large and the barrier effect is several times higher than that of ordinary flat glass. Bullet evidence glass is made by weighting individual layers of conventional glass or safety glass.

Due to the grip of the PVB film, when the glass breaks anyway, its fragments will continue to press against the sheet without hurting anyone, and the outer surface of the divided glass remains perfectly smooth enough to prevent injury to the broken surface. from entering or falling, in such a way as to ensure human well-being. Laminated glass made from various types of flat glass is strong, resists heat and moisture.
In Europe and the United States, laminated tempered glass is used in most structures to circumvent dangerous accidents due to its great rival in shock and theft resistance. The interlayer can withstand continuous blows from deadly weapons such as mallets and lumbering blades, as well as gunshot entry for a certain period of time, for a high level of security.

The impact of sound insulation is one of the most important factors in assessing the nature of today's private buildings. Glass with PVB laminated film is square wave stable and maintains a quiet and pleasant office environment. Its superior UV filtering ability protects human skin while preventing blurring of important and valuable furniture and display artwork. It also reduces light transmission and saves cooling energy.

What is laminated safety glass?

Laminated safety glass consists of two or more pieces of annealed or toughened glass or a combination of both. The thickness of the safety glass and the entire substrate will vary, depending on the installation location, specification requirements and engineering installation methods. The interlayer of safety glass will also be determined by the same parameters and whether it is created to provide privacy or to provide superior radiation protection by keeping the entire substrate in place if both panes break.
