North Glass is pleased to announce the arrival of our glass balustrade system and all-glass fabrication facility. Glass balustrades are the first choice for landscape protection and security. In outdoor applications, glass is very effective as a windbreaker, making it very popular in waterfront properties. While it helps to block the more violent winds, the small gaps between the glass and the posts and handrails allow you to enjoy the breeze. The transparent panels give the illusion of an invisible balustrade when the natural view is through. The treated glass requires little maintenance except for occasional cleaning with soap and water or other glass cleaners.

About the Balcony Glass Railing

The glass balustrade is smooth and the panels are less than 2 inches from the post, making the system safe for young children and pets.

Most importantly, our posts and glass clips for glass balustrades are designed to simplify installation. After placing the post foot cap on the base plate, the clips can simply be screwed onto the pre-drilled post. Each clip is individually packaged with the screws required to attach them to the post. Our glass clips can be attached to any of our stainless steel post styles and can be powder coated to match the rest of your system. The glazing clips are sold separately from the post, but it is easy to work out how many clips you will need for your project. For each end post, you will need 2 glazing clips, while corner and centre posts use 4 each. Glass posts can be spaced up to 4 feet apart.

Our glass clips are made from 316 stainless steel and are strong and durable enough to withstand a variety of elements. They are 2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide and can accommodate 9/16 inch laminated glass or 3/8 inch tempered glass. We recommend 3/8 inch tempered glass for most residential post projects and 9/16 inch laminated tempered glass for commercial projects and applications that require added strength and durability.
