What is it ?
Fireplace ceramic glass is best for higher temperature applications, which is also called crystallite glass. It can withstand constant temperatures up to either 1256 degrees F (PyroCeram 1/8" or 3mm thick) or 1470 degrees F (NeoCeram, 3/16" or 5mm thick). It is actually not glass, but a polycrystalline, clear ceramic material. Because of its ability to withstand constant high temperature, it is best used for applications where glass must be within a proximity of 6 inches or less to fire or for applications where the temperature exceeds what tempered glass can withstand.

Resistance of the panel to thermal shock when the hot panel (780oC) is quenched with cold water (20oC temperature). No cracking due to thermal stress at Tes, max<=700 Degree C
